In order to get started with Velocity, you need to meet the following prerequisites:
  • A cloud provider account
    • Account in AWS
    • Project in Google Cloud
  • A domain to manage DNS records
  • Artifacts repository with your containerized applications. We support:
  • Deployment definitions

Velocity uses the domain to enable your users to access the ephemeral environments they create.
The domain name could be a root domain (e.g., or a subdomain (e.g., The domain should be DNS managed with the same cloud provider you’ll be using to run Velocity’s platform.

Deployment definitions

Velocity detects the services in your organization and keeps track of the changes made to them.
In order to do so, Velocity needs to be able to receive updates of your deployment definitions (Helm Charts / Terraform / docker-compose / …). This can be done either by push (during your deployment process) or by pull (allowing Velocity to access and track your definitions repository).
We are continually working towards adding more sources and integrations. Please reach out if you want to know more or have any questions.
