Grafana Integration

The Grafana integration allows Velocity to ingest information for monitoring and insights

Follow these steps in your Grafana account to create a Service Account and a Service Account Token

Step 1 - Create a new Service Account

1. Navigate to Administration settings, then click Users and access -> Service accounts

2. Click "Add service account" at the top right

3. Enter a name for the new role, for example, Velocity Service Account

4. Select the following permissions

   1. Alerting - Notifications Writer

   2. Alerting - Notifications Reader

   3. Alerting - Full read-only access

   4. Alerting - Access to alert rules provisioning API

   5. Data sources - Reader

   
5. Click Create

Step 2 - Create a Service Account Token

1. In the newly created service account screen (Velocity Service Account), click "Add service account token"

2. Enter a name for the new role, for example, Velocity Service Account Token

3. Click Generate token

4. Copy the new key to your clipboard

Step 3 - Share the token with Velocity

Send your Velocity point of contact the Service Account Token via your dedicated Slack channel or email us at [e-mail]
