Sumo Logic Integration

This guide walks you through the process of integrating Velocity with Sumo Logic to enhance incident investigation and resolution workflows.

Prerequisites

• Admin access to your Sumo Logic account.

• Admin access to your Velocity account.

Step 1: Generate a Sumo Logic Access Key

1. Log in to your Sumo Logic account

2. Classic UI - In the main Sumo Logic menu, select your username and then Preferences > Personal Access Keys. New UI. In the top menu select your username, and then under Preferences select Personal Access Keys.

3. On the Personal Access Keys tab, click + Add Access Key.

1. Name - Enter a name for your access key.

2. Scopes - Choose the Custom option to select the specific scopes for the key:

   1. Alerting - Monitors - View

   2. Log Search - Run Log Search - Mange

   3. Metrics - Run Metrics Query - Manage

   

3. Click Save to generate the key.

4. ⚠️ IMPORTANT. Copy both the generated Access ID and Access Key before clicking Done. This is the only time you will be able to copy the ID and key.

Step 2 - Submit Your Access ID, Access Token and Sumo Logic URL

1. Log in to your Velocity account at https://app.velocity.tech

2. Navigate to Application > Integrations.

3. Select Sumo Logic from the available integrations.

4. Enter your Sumo Logic Access ID, Access Key (from step 1), and Sumo Logic domain (e.g., https://api.sumologic.com or https://api.eu.sumologic.com. instructions to find your domain).

5. Click Create Integration to complete the integration setup.

If needed, a new dedicated API user can be created within Sumo Logic for this integration. The access token can then be generated from this dedicated user account.
