New Relic Integration

The New Relic integration allows Velocity to collect critical observability data, including APM metrics, logs, and dashboards, to enhance incident triage and root cause analysis.

Step 1: Generate a New Relic API Key

1. Navigate to New Relic API Keys.

2. Click on “Create a key”.

3. Select the relevant New Relic account from the dropdown.

4. Choose Key Type: User.

5. Provide a Key Name (e.g., Velocity Integration).

6. (Optional) Add a Note for documentation purposes.

7. Click “Create a key” and copy the API Key for later use. - This key is essential for authenticating

Velocity’s access to New Relic’s telemetry data and ensuring a secure integration between the two platforms.

Step 2 - Submit Your API Key

1. Log in to your Velocity account at https://app.velocity.tech

2. Navigate to Application > Integrations.

3. Select New Relic from the available integrations.

4. Enter your New Relic API Key.

5. Click Create Integration to complete the integration setup.

Once connected, Velocity can begin ingesting observability data from your New Relic account in real time, enabling faster issue detection and improved reliability metrics.

If needed, a new dedicated API user can be created within New Relic for this integration. The API Key can then be generated from this dedicated user account.
